chained to a rock

... I am doing my Andromeda thing although as you will appreciate I am the son of Cassie not her daughter. Original breeders live in caravan on other side of the river. Posted by Picasa

damsons

more signs of autumn. This is a very heavy crop of Damsons near Oldmill. I will try to avoid the life is a bowl of damsons analogy because from a canine point of view this is not strictly true, in fact a bowl of almost anything else would be preferable. Posted by Picasa

ripples

these are water boatmen. I think I am right in thinking that they transmit their size and fitness by stamping their feet and sending out ripples across their watery space time continuum, a paradigm for all of us in a way I suppose. The guy at the top left is pretty tough, and the guy at bottom right is in a state of learned helplessness, lacks agency and the will to live in this pond, and therefore is depressed. The moral of this picture is therefore the more you wag your tail and the more you stamp your paws the better it will be. Posted by Picasa

blue and orange

the berries of the Rowan make a stark contrast against the blue and cloudless sky. Trees seem to have enjoyed the heat of the last few weeks, our apple trees are heaving with fruit, the Rowans are covered in berries, the walnut has almost doubled in size (no nuts, clearly not enough beating of dogs) ...what will the bill be I wonder for all this warmth? golden ringed dragonfly

and by the river we saw this very powerful, fast and large battleship of an insect which appears to be a golden ringed dragonfly. Posted by Picasa
