this large grey heron was seen over Carthamartha fleeing the scene, but I doubt that herons top and tail fish, I am sure they swallow them whole

A few years ago I had a large koi carp purloined by a heron and which was effectively top and tailed. Maybe the mode of dispatch is related to the size of the prey? Small - swallowed whole. Large - dissected.

that's very interesting Derrick, I assumed the fish was too big for the Inny and that the bird wouldnt leave half of the fish behind
