very important announcement

Do you remember what you were doing on that day? I would like to remind everyone that it is my birthday on 6/6. I may be more mature now and I know it is not my birthday every day, but I do expect presents and cards on my birthday and I thought you might like a reminder now. Nor was I the only Spot in gestation at the time. Posted by Picasa

Now look here, Spot, I know that dogs are not noted for their consistency, but in your 'ABOUT ME' box you say: "it's always my birthday. The joys of PL17". So how come you are making something special of 6/6, in particular? And by the way, I will shortly have more to say about your mis-use of base 1(see below.) Grumpy regards, Rationalist.

6/6 is my actual birthday (correctly written 111111/111111; when I was younger I did not understand that one day was different from another.

Spot, that's fine - I withdraw my criticism of your use of Base 1. In fact you are helping to promote its use in the canine community, where the fact that | can easily be scratched by community members is of great practical importance. Best wishes for 111111/111111 from Rationalist.

Message dated 111111111111111111111/Ah, problem. No sign for zero in Base 1, and I was going to write 21/05. Hmm. More thought needed. Any ideas, Spot, old fellow?

dearest rationalist, I find that the simple omission of a complicated concept like zero makes life much easier, so ten is 1 or 1111111111, and a hundred is a very big number indeed best avoided altogether. This explains why I got confused; five june was actually day 1 (that is zero) and six june was day 1, so my birthday is actually 111111/111111 but how can I tell anyone?? Where are you, in India?

well, 11111/111111 actually, but who cares, I will expect a party on both days.

"This post has been removed by the author" it says. Intriguing, Spot. Well, it wasn't from me. Can't imagine who other than Spot and rationalist is interested in Base 1.

not interested in base 1? the message was withdrawn by admin because of multiple spelling mistakes; I was told that numeracy is not much use without some degree of literacy, I find that keyboards are not well designed for dogs.Anyway, at least 1 does not cloak behind a hide of anonymity. Huhh!

Card in the post, Harry seems less excited about Birthdays, was she invited to Posh and Beck's Bash per chance? x

the whereabouts of harri at any given time is very mysterious. Equally it is not clear that she was born as other dogs but rather she appears to have been beamed down by a superior being, probably as some sort of puinishment for being so haughty in a previous life.
